Dear Readers,
I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. It's been a while since I last posted, and I wanted to take a moment to share some of the challenges I've been facing, and why my presence in the digital and professional world has been relatively quiet.
Over the past year, I've been on a sabbatical—a much-needed pause to reflect, heal, and regain my strength. This hiatus was long overdue, a result of enduring a prolonged period of stress, and battling a sense of deep disillusionment.
At the heart of my struggles were some difficult experiences with clients. While I've been fortunate to work with many amazing individuals and organizations, there were instances where the partnership didn't live up to the mutual respect and understanding I believe to be fundamental in any professional relationship. It's disheartening when one's efforts aren't acknowledged or valued, and I found myself questioning the very essence of my work.
Moreover, within my team, I encountered challenges that were equally trying. Loyalty and trust, which I consider the cornerstones of any successful venture, were tested. Some team members went to great lengths, breaching the boundaries of professional integrity. They not only utilized my ideas and resources for personal gain but also went behind my back to establish their own enterprises.
Addressing these issues head-on, I made the difficult decision to part ways with individuals whose actions didn't align with the principles I hold dear. This process was emotionally taxing, as it meant not only losing valued team members but also bearing the weight of unfinished projects on my own.
The weight of these circumstances bore heavily on my shoulders, leading me into a profound state of depression and anxiety. It's a stark reality that the world of entrepreneurship often neglects—the emotional toll it can take on business owners. The nights spent pondering the future, the days filled with self-doubt—it's a journey that requires not only resilience but also the courage to seek help and take a step back when needed.
In the aftermath, I realized that it's crucial to take a step back, acknowledge our vulnerabilities, and allow ourselves the time and space to heal. This sabbatical has been a period of introspection, a journey of self-discovery, and a necessary pause to recalibrate.
As I begin to re-emerge, I want to extend my gratitude to those who have supported me throughout this process. Your understanding and patience have been a source of great comfort.
In the coming months, I look forward to reconnecting with my community, sharing fresh inspiration, and embarking on new projects. Together, we'll turn the page on this chapter and move forward with renewed vigor.
Thank you for your unwavering support.
Designfully yours
